Impregnated timber is used wherever the wood is to be exposed to the effects of external weather conditions.

In Greece, pine is perhaps the most familiar wood as it is widely used in many constructions and is known as Swedish timber. The larger cross-sections are used as trellis beams.

At SHOWOOD we choose to import impregnated wood from the largest wood companies in northern Europe (e.g. Finland), known for the high quality of their products and the adherence to their procedures.

1. We choose Northern Europe because:

The quality of Scandinavian pine, especially pine that grows within the boundaries of the Arctic Circle, is the best in Europe, because the cold climatic conditions affect the speed of the tree's growth, so that the harvested timber is hard, compact, with a high specific weight, with high mechanical resistance to crushing, bending and tensile strength, with low water absorption, high thermal insulation and slow combustion rate.

We are confident that the right raw material is being harvested and we will use it for our constructions.

2. We choose the best factories because:

  • The timber is processed with the most modern procedures.
  • The necessary sorting of the timber harvested shall be carried out.
  • Quality controls are strictly adhered to.
  • The timber is impregnated with proper wood preservatives.
  • The impregnation is ecological and does not contain materials toxic to humans.
  • The procedure is carried out correctly during the impregnation and afterwards.
  • The timber we import is selected to be planed. Here too, the process is followed correctly and the timber almost all of it has a perfect finish.
  • In composite - poly glued timber the joints of the beams are made with high quality materials.
  • The timber is harvested in well-managed forest plantations.
  • The European Process Standards are applied.

PROVIDE ALL THE NECESSARY CERTIFICATES. Thus, we are sure that every piece of wood meets the required quality standards and is accompanied by the corresponding certificates proving it.

The impregnated timber is ideal for outdoor applications:

  • Pergolas
  • Kiosks -outdoor
  • Playground equipment
  • Outdoor or garden decoration
  • Fences
  • Passalous (viticulture)
  • As deck floors in swimming pools, beach bars
  • As a deck on outdoor floors
  • Wooden garden furniture
  • Construction timber
  • Structures near or in contact with the sea

What can we find in pine timber?

Wood is a natural material and often, despite all the processing, we can find the following:

  • Resin injection (resin)
  • Rose
  • Pine wood belongs to the soft red wood, and its colour after impregnation is the natural colour of the wood with a transparent green, perfectly interwoven with the natural environment.
  • Slight cracks (do not affect the strength of the wood)
